Pogba and Zidane's meeting in Dubai is not a coincidence

Zinedine Zidane has played down his ‘chance’ meeting with Paul Pogba in Dubai this week and says his conversation with the Manchester United midfielder was entirely innocent.

Manchester United midfielder and French national team player Paul Pogba has met in Dubai with Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane after months of speculation about the player's move to the Spanish team, exclusively revealed by the British newspaper Express.

Pogba, who did not play for his team in the north-west England derby against Liverpool on Sunday evening 20 October due to an ankle injury, travelled to Dubai for rehabilitation and enjoyed the warm weather during the international break.


Paul Pogba meets Zinedine Zidane in Dubai 

The star, who has no friendly relationship with red devils fans, was seen talking to Zidane after the pair met on the beach on Sunday evening (October 13th), as the French coach travelled to Dubai to attend a conference there.

Pogba and Zidane spoke together for 10 minutes, which will certainly spark further rumours that Pogba may move to the Santiago Bernabéu.

The British newspaper confirmed that Zidane is still accused of contracting With Pogba, after he failed to sign him last summer.

Real Madrid spent more than £300 million (US$386.98 million) on new contracts before the start of the season, but were unable to win Pogba's services as Manchester United insisted that the 26-year-old was not for sale for less than £150 million. Sterling (US$193.49 million).

Real are believed to have made a £27.6million offer for United in addition to Colombian player James Rodríguez in exchange for Pogba, but this offer did not meet the value set by Manchester United for the star of the team.

Juventus have also expressed interest in hiring again with their former player, who has been constantly criticised for his actions on and off the pitch since arriving at Manchester United for 89 million pounds ($114.81 million) in 2016.



Pogba has two years left with the option of adding another year to his current contract with United, which means the Red Devils hold firm lyintheir position to get the value they have set for the player.

Pogba sparked controversy after announcing his willingness to take on a new challenge in the middle of last summer's transfer window.

He then raised further doubts about his future after saying that his plans remain unknown, despite playing a key role in his team's victory over Chelsea in the opening match of the Premier League.

Pogba's agent Mino Raiola added further uncertainty after announcing his client's desire to leave United last summer.

Meanwhile, the Manchester United star is currently recovering from an ankle injury and was seen using crutches and bandaged during his conversation with Zidane.

For his part, Zidane and Real Madrid overcame the top of the Spanish league after losing their first domestic loss this season by defeating a clean goal against the humble Real Mallorca to sit in second place with 18 points behind one point from their rival Barcelona, who rose to the top for the first time this season.

The loss is likely to reinvigorate the French coach's desire to complete further contracts in the winter transfer window as most of the team's players progress.

Zidane used the international break to present his experiences at the Dubai Sports AI Conference.

The 47-year-old coach may have paved the way for another attempt to sign Pogba after the duo's meeting in the Middle East.

However, the new real management of news will not please the coach for sure, abc newspaper reported that Real Madrid made a decision not to conclude any deal in the next winter transfer period.

The Spanish newspaper added that Florentino Pérez, president of the club, believes that there is no need to contract with any player in the winter mercato, because the current squad is enough.

The newspaper pointed out that Perez wants to give the team coach Zinedine Zidane more time, in order to give the opportunity to more than one player in the squad, especially in the midfield, which suffers from fluctuation in level.
