Cristiano Ronaldo reaches 700 career goals for club and country.. CR700
The Portuguese striker, Cristiano Ronaldo, said he was not obsessed with breaking records because he believed it would come to him on its own.
The 34-year-old scored his 700th goal of his career on Monday against Portugal and Ukraine in the Euro 2020 qualifiers and is seventh on the all-time list of football players in history.
Although Ronaldo's goal from the penalty spot did not help Portugal to qualify or win, it became the talk of the international press forgetting the defeat - the first since the 2018 World Cup - to the sons of coach Fernando Santos (2-1) and the threat of the Serbs staring at them.
The Ukrainians officially qualified for the finals after collecting 19 points from the first seven rounds, while the Portuguese are 11 points ahead of Serbia, both of whom have played only six matches. Only one of them will accompany Ukraine to Euro 2020.
'No player can get this far, I thank my teammates and coaches who helped me become the player I am now', ronaldo began to talk to reporters after the game.Ronaldo scored his 700th goal of his career on Monday against Portugal and Ukraine 2-1 🐐— About Sports (@aboutspoort) October 15, 2019

About the records, Ronaldo said 'How many numbers have you broken? I don't know, I have to enjoy the moments and thank everyone who helped me get to this big level.'
"The numbers come naturally on their own, I'm not looking for them, they're the ones looking for me, I don't have any obsession with numbers, they're already coming to me automatically," he concluded.
His 700 goals so far have come from 973 matches - and he has scored at least once in 458 of those.
His goal in the 2-1 loss to Ukraine was also his 95th for Portugal, leaving only Iranian Ali Daei in front in the international charts on 109 goals.
The win for Ukraine, meanwhile, means they have qualified for Euro 2020.
